    Cricket at St. Benedict’s College, Kandy has been a happening sport from the early beginnings of the College. The then, “Little Benedictines” played their first friendly cricket match against St. Anthony’s College, Katugastota in 2009. The little lads showed immense potential and kept improving as they kept moving forward.

    In 2014, we fared very well in the under 13 age group playing in the “Ran Kakulu Trophy”. In the first tournament we entered round 2. Some highlights to mention are….

    • Two 300+ totals
    • A Batsman getting 2 centuries
    • A Bolwer bagging 20 wickets in 5 matches.

    This year (2015) in May, the College has entered the Sri Lanka School Cricket Association Cricket Tournament.

    Julian Arnolda has been are cricket coach for the past 3 years and has certainly put his 15+ years of experience to good use, molding are talented cricketers. He is preparing to take on the ICC level 2 exam in June 2015. We wish well at the examination.

    Ms. NelumPeires is a very dedicated and committed teacher, always with a watchful eye and is the Teacher-in –charge for cricket. She is hell bent on learning all the intricate rules of the game, in order to be well versed in her role as the Teacher-in-charge.
